Todays studies

So glad we got a lot of school work accomplished in a short time today. We started the Homonyms (thanks Michelle) and he really enjoyed them. We did the copy and drawing today. Tomorrow we will do the definitions. He also wrote a letter to a male (Uncle) for explaining the difference in male/mail.
He likes his picture taken.

This is his page on sale/sail.
We also started Lifepac Unit 5 today. It has a lot of reading and answering questions, but this is something he really needs to work on. I just have to find something for him to do while reading besides sitting at the table or on the floor. I may invest in a bounce ball like several people have mentioned on HHS.
We did math today on a dry erase board and he like this better than paper and pencil. This way just takes more of my one on one time. But I am going to continue with this and add the paper and pencil problems too.

Today he also finished his Soccer lap-book. We have been working on this book for a few books now, but it was pretty detailed. He learned about what the 1st soccer ball was made from, traction, area, perimeter, world cup wins, rules of soccer, and more. He really enjoyed doing this one. The nest we are doing in just Our Community so he can learn more about his surroundings.
ACTING SILLY
Now it is time to get busy with the house cleaning. I had to do things out of order today b/c K took a early nap. His allergies are bad and he is cutting a tooth. Now I am going to lay N down for a nap and get to cleaning.

So I did not get our lesson plans in order this weekend. (I was preoccupied worrying about dad.) So I had to get up this morning cook breakfast and get a plan together for today. So today will be a light day for studying. This afternoon I will be finishing our weekly plans.

Today we will do,
Bible time (Matthew 4:1-11)
Language Arts (Homonyms and short story and answers w Lifepac)
Math lesson (gauges and thermometers)
And do some reading. (Path of Gold)

Plus I have to do the daily cleanup around here. This house can be a mess in a matter of minutes. I try to pick up all through out the day but it still gets to be a mess.

Please continue to pray for my dad. His blood pressure began dropping this morning. They are adjusting his medicine to try and bring it up. They are also doing the camera to the heart to check for blood clots and may shock his heart. Once his heart is stable they will do the gall bladder surgery. Thank you all for your prayers.

Been searching

Ok, so I have started looking for curriculum for next year already. I think I have it narrowed done now. I may not be able to go to the conference due to M may be at work, so I am going to go ahead and order. I did a lot of research on what type of learner C is and what e will need to learn better. I do know now he needs colors, pictures, and lots of movement. Here is what I am looking at right now but could change.

Crazy day today. Headed to town to get a few things and get the boys a hair cut. Started that way and hit sleet then snow. Boy coming home was fun b/c the road were really bad. Praise the Lord we made it home safe. Then not long after I got home I got word my dad was not doing so well. Dad is now stable. He has not had a heart attack but does have congestive heart failure. They see no blood clots around his heart, so will run more test tomorrow. I hope everyone has had a blessed weekend. I am going to try and get some rest now.

Watching Baby A

We were blessed yesterday with the opportunity of watching a friends baby. We love having the chance to keep a little one. Now that we are not having anymore babies it gives me an opportunity to get my baby wants out.  Baby A is the best baby ever. C really enjoys getting to love on a little one. We still did our daily routine and just added another blessing to it.
C got to rock Baby A to sleep

What a cutie

Cheese! We had to take N's picture too if we took Baby A's.

Didn't want to leave K out.
Over all we had a wonderful day. I was just extremely tired from lack of sleep for the past few nights.

Today has been great. I got rest last night and I have some energy today. I have started looking for a curriculum for C next year. Have no clue yet what I want to do besides I know I want to do unit studies. I can not go with a pack set b/c we have to be able to adjust and they don't do that well. Just waiting and praying for the Lord to show me what He wants C to learn ext year. Hope everyone had a good of a day as we did.

Garden/Flowers

C has decided he wants to take control of the flower bed in our back yard, so I thought it would be a great experience for him. He also wants to help do our little vegetable garden. So, today while we were in town we got something to plant. N and him got out there right away to get busy.
C trying to explain to N what he is doing.

Had to stop for a picture.

I can't wait till it starts growing and he can see his labor produce. He will be so proud of his gardening.

I love my husband

I had a huge surprise today. I was standing and talking to B and her boyfriend about what a crazy day I had doing taxes; when there was a knock at the door. Here is what I got.

Red roses

They are so pretty. I get teary eyed every time I look at them. Miss him very much. Praise the Lord he will be home in a few weeks. Just wanted to share with everyone

Taxes

Ok, so I finally got our taxes done and filed all states but Missouri. So glad to have all that done and out of the way. It has been a very long process since we file so many states. Just thankful to have it done. Got my running around done today so that the rest of this week we can do school work, yard work, and house work. Sounds like a lot of fun. I have never been one to mess in the yard unless it is a vegetable garden.

Kids are doing great. Big kids just finished the quarter so will be getting report cards really soon. B is working and getting things in order for prom, so he stays pretty busy. V & D are both running track and they have their 1st meets this week. C is in soccer and cub scouts. He has his 1st game on the 26th. N & K are just growing like crazy. (Makes me want another baby.) I babysit a friends though to help with the feelings.

M is suppose to be coming home the beginning of next month and I am so ready for that. This has been a long run but I know it has to be for now. Still praying for work at home so he can be involved with the family more. I know he is going to be tired when he gets home after this job. Over all we are all doing well and extremely blessed.

Day in the sun.

The 3 youngest and I took advantage of the beautiful weather the other day. They had Valentine coupons for McDonald's to get free ice cream cones. So we went and got ice cream and came home to play in the yard. K was not liking the ice cream at all. N ate his up and made a MESS. He dropped it on the ground and was upset because the leaves stuck to it. C took this time to also jump the ramp on his bike. It was so nice outside and it is great yo enjoy the fresh air.
Trying to keep the wind out of his ears because he has had an ear infection. He enjoys the outdoors.

Jumping the ramp. Super excited I got the air picture. lol

Yummy ice cream now lets play ball.

I wasn't throwing the ball so he started hitting this big ball. I am blown away at how well N is doing with baseball. He hits his little white baseball about 1 out of 3 throws. I am ready for the grass to start growing in our yard again.

Basketball banquet

V had an awesome season this year in basketball. The coaches were blown away that last he only had 4 goals and this year he had 78 points. They were so proud of him. He averaged 6 goals a game. They thought it was funny b/c they could not figure out if he was left handed or right handed b/c he shots the ball with both. He has been spoke to about joining the varsity team next year.
Coach was talking about him.

He makes it a point to not look towards the camera b/c he does not like his picture taken. He had a wonderful season and is now in track season doing the high jump, 400 dash, and 200 dash.

Cub Scout derby races

C had 2 derby races and he really enjoyed them. In the 1st race it was district and he didn't win any races. Today he had his pack race and he won 6 races. He was so excited to see his car win a race. He did not get a trophy but got a medal and a ribbon for participating in the derby race. He built his car with pastor B and they did a great job. Thank you again pastor B for all your help and support with the derby race.
Getting his medal

The gold car is his. He is very proud to say he built this from a block of wood with a saw.

Watching his car come down the track.

Just sat his car in place and coming to wait on it to drop.

Waiting to get medals.
Cub scouts has been wonderful for C and he really enjoys it. They are working on a badge now but we don't have any meets for a couple of weeks.

Roller Skating

We went roller skating one Sunday afternoon with our church. It was so much fun. All 5 of the boys got out there and skated. Even K got to join in on the fun. B was at work so she didn't get to attend. The little ones started holding onto a plastic support thing, but it wasn't long and N let go and wanted to chase his brother around. He fell a few times but got right back up and took off. He wants to be like them so bad. It was hard to get pictures because it was dark and the big boys were moving to fast. Here are some of what I got though. Sorry so many pictures but got a lot of kiddos to try and get snapshots of.
Here we go. Getting ready to skate.

Brother P went out with N first while I was getting K ready to go.

Look at me Mom.

This plastic things were great. K skated around a lot with me just walking behind him.

N got off the support quick and wanted to be on his own. (Mr. Independent)

Momma and K skating around.

Taking a break with Maw maw while momma takes pictures.

D looks tired.

V doesn't like his pictures taken. He was doing all he could to not get in front of my camera.

Another one bites the dust. lol

C helping his little brother skate.

The whole group of kids from our church that went skating. They close the ring down for our group.

His skate wouldn't stay on his foot. His shoe barely went in it.
